Phantom, The Reluctant Sorcerer

This is the very first deviation I ever put on DeviantArt. This is also the very first original character I ever made dating all the way back to 2007. Please feel free to leave a critique and let me what you think of him.

Occupation: Sorcerer and demon slayer
Talents: Trains twice a day both in martial arts and magic. Keen eye for detail. Despite his slim appearance he possesses extraordinary strength and agility. Can wield the natural elements of the world; water, earth, fire, air.
Likes: Enjoys reading, writing in his journal, and sharing stories of his travels when the mood strikes him. Enjoys his meditations for the peace and quiet it brings him. Appreciates a variety of music. Although he does not show it he takes great pride in his martial arts training.
Dislikes: Dishonesty. Having to rely on magic. Extreme dislike and distrust for demons and monsters that prey upon mortals.
Personality A man of faith and reason. Usually quiet and stoic which makes him very difficult to understand. Has a witty tongue from time to time. Always gives his honest opinion regardless if it is considered polite or rude. Prefers fighting hand to hand saving magic for extreme situations or as a last resort.

Brief story: To this day no knows his real name. This mysterious figure comes from a race of people rarely seen from his world. They are often described as having pitch black skin, no discernible facial features save for their bright yellow eyes, and an inborn hatred for magic. It wasn't until Phantom was a boy on the verge of becoming a young man that he learned that the magic of the world he lives in is not something that is given away. A person must be born with magic in their blood. After the discovery of his magical talent he and his family left their village and sought asylum in the Arcane Academy much to their displeasure.
